St. Hubertus Hunting Lodge

I visited a beautiful 1920's lodge.  It was a home until it was turned into a museum and national park.  The walls, ceilings and floor were all covered by colorful and shiny glazed tiles.  The guide described how everything in the house including all furniture, art work, sculptures and light fixutres were designed by the same architect who designed the house.  There was a huge rug in the dining room and impressive tile all around it.  The guide lifted the rug to expose a flat plain cement slab under the rug.  The architect had done this on purpose so that the rug wouldn't be moved from its intended location.  The guide also pointed out a mismatched set of tiles on the floor next to a cabinet.  They marked the exact location of the cabinet feet.  If it was moved the ugly tiles would be exposed.  The extravagant story of this lodge and the surrounding area goes on and on to include a man-made lake that the architect designed to go along with the lodge.
